Introducing the newest and most innovative treatment modality here at Mid Carolina Psychiatry – SPRAVATO®!
What is Spravato?
SPRAVATO® is a nasal spray that contains esketamine, a rapid-acting form of ketamine. It works differently from traditional antidepressants by targeting neurotransmitter systems that are involved in mood regulation. This novel approach helps to quickly restore balance in your brain, leading to a more effective treatment for severe depression. In other words, this is an innovative treatment designed for individuals who have not responded to conventional therapies, offering a new path to recovery for those struggling with treatment-resistant depression.
Spravato Introduction
Curious on how to Administer Spravato ?
Spravato works through a different pathway than standard antidepressants, which is part of why it can help when other medications haven’t. And it can work faster: some people notice a difference within about a day, where traditional antidepressants often take four to six weeks. Individual results vary, and it doesn’t work for everyone, but for many people it opens a door that felt closed.
